ESL Australia have today announced the return of ESL ANZ Champs, previously known as the ESL AUNZ Championship, for its fifth year here in Australasia. With that being said, it has been announced that Counter-Strike: Global Offensive will be the competitions first title for the year, with two more titles soon to be announced.

Brad Baldwin, Product Development Head at ESL Australia, said in a statement “moving into 2020 and a new decade, we felt it was the right time to embrace a clean visual identity for our national championships.”

“As well as a new social and broadcast look, the ESL ANZ Champs takes on a new name, which speaks to our continued development as an authentic, local product for an Australian and New Zealand audience,” finished Brad.

Season one of the ESL ANZ Champs for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is set to further cement its place as the premier competition for the title in this region, with the first season set to run over multiple weeks of competition, accompanied by every match of the group stage and finals being broadcasted live from the ESL Australia Studios in Sydney.
